As a Christian, we need to learn to not compromise ourselves and our faith just to fit in. We will never fit in because we have a mission, a greater purpose. We cannot believe 2 different things. We cannot serve two different masters.

Matthew 6:20-21   New International Version (NIV)

20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Where you put your heart determines who you are for. If your heart has two different sides clashing and fighting for possession, you may eventually fall. People should be able to tell the difference between the way you live your life and the way they live theirs. If they are too similar, you need to check yourself.

You can’t have one leg in church and one leg out and think that the leg you have in church will save you. That is disrespectful; to yourself as well as to God. When you make the decision to commit to God, you have to give Him your ALL, not your some. You must leave no stone unturned.

There is a difference between compromising your faith and being relevant in our generation. I am not saying, listening to secular music is bad, I am saying if it has a big chunk in your heart than God then, that is bad. Obviously, you have to know about everyday things so you know how to counterattack them. The gospel has been brought to Twitter and Facebook. This wouldn’t have happened if Christians decided those social networks weren’t ‘Godly’. Our own righteousness is like filthy rags. The church needs to stop making decisions for God; He is more than capable. We need to understand how to reach out to people. That is why I am writing this.

Let this be taken as encouragement rather than judgement.
